Blended Families: Helping them Succeed
Today's families are no longer
characterized by a mother, father and children. The term "family" takes into
account a variety of combinations. In working with blended families, it is
important to understand the starting point of these relationships and begin
with a focus on the losses faced by members of the unit. This on-line course
will address the adjustments, challenges and complications that blended
families face. It will focus on starting out a relationship from a position
of loss, healthy and unhealthy families, changes in family values and
cultures, and typical areas of conflict within the blended family.
