Medical Coding: Preparation and Instruction for Implementation
This nationally recognized ICD-10 Medical Coding online
certificate training course covers the recently upgraded diagnostic and
procedural medical coding system and will soon be mandated by the Federal
government for use in the healthcare industry in insurance processing,
reimbursement, and statistical data gathering. This online medical
coding program will teach students how to prepare for and implement the
massive changes to the existing coding system. This new program will
present a comprehensive overview of the changes in store for both diagnostic
and procedural medical coding along with detailed information on the impacts
of the medical coding changes to coders, healthcare staff, physicians,
software systems, documentations, and information technology. Textbook

CPT and HCPCS Coding

of C prior to enrolling for this course: Medical Terminology and Anatomy &
Physiology for the Medical Business Certificate Program.
Human Resources for Healthcare Professionals
This nationally recognized Online Human Resources
Certificate Program provides a comprehensive human resource management
foundation, grounded in practice, for those who intent to work, or are
working, in healthcare settings. All of the modules in this program
instill a solid foundation in both human resources and healthcare
administrative practices. This online certificate program is only
offered in partnership with major colleges and universities.
Medical Terminology
Now you can complete your Medical
Terminology prerequisite online. Study from the convenience of your own home
or office. This course is a prerequisite for EKG Technician, Medical
Transcription, Cardiac Care Technician, CPT Coding, ICD-9 Coding, Medical
Billing, and Phlebotomy. Web access is necessary. On-campus orientation and
on-campus final exam. No required textbook.
Medical Billing
Now you can complete the Medical
Billing course of your Medical Business certificate program online in an
American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) approved class.
This class will teach the student how to be proficient in billing in a
health care setting and how to enhance reimbursement. Web access is
necessary. On campus orientation and on campus final exam. Prerequisites:
Medical Terminology, ICD-9 Coding, and CPT and HCPCS Coding. Mandatory
orientation to be held on Harbison Campus.
Anatomy and Physiology
This 45 contact hour (no lab) on-line
course is a general introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the human
body. This course is a prerequisite for the Medical Business Certificate
program. Students entering into any of the medical certificate
courses/programs are encouraged to take this course to enhance their
foundation of medical knowledge. Web access is necessary. On-campus
orientation and on-campus final exam. Purchase text with WebCT code from the
Airport Campus Bookstore.
Revenue Cycle
Management for Healthcare Providers
This nationally recognized Revenue Cycle Management
Online Certificate Program for healthcare providers, teachers students the
skills necessary to evaluate the performance of revenue-cycle systems and
processes. This course enables students to develop an understanding of
the components of the revenue cycle, the best methods for benchmarking
