SCHOOL OF AUCTIONEERING
Approved by the SC Auctioneers' Commission
Learn the fine art of auctioneering in a new program format at Midlands Technical College.
All commission required topics - bid calling, antiques and furniture, farm equipment, livestock, liquidations, business aspects of auctioneering, law and ethics, estate and bankruptcy sales - are covered. Field trips, auctions, and a student auction complete the program. The program and all instructors are approved by the South Carolina Auctioneers' Commission. The 87-hour program qualifies as the eighty (80) hour pre-licensing course which must be successfully completed prior to taking the South Carolina Auctioneer Commission's licensing exam.

Dates: October 9 - November 22, 2008
When: Thursday and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, 9
a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Midlands Technical College

Campus
Dates may be adjusted. A final written exam will be given at the
last class. Classes will be completed so students may sit for the
December 5, 2008, LLR Auctioneers exam.
Requirements
Participants who sit for the written exam are required by the S.C. Auctioneers' Licensing Commission to be 18 years old in order to obtain an auctioneer's license. Each student should become familiar with local requirements. Please note that any person having a felony conviction, bad credit or an inability to read or write may not be eligible for the state written exam that all applicants must pass in order to be licensed in South Carolina.
