Project Management Certification
CAPM and PMP
In today's global marketplace, complexity and speed are certainties. In such an environment, a good axiom for project management is, Do It, Do It Right, Do It Right Now. Creating clear direction, efficiency, timely response, and quality outcomes requires project managers who are agile -- adept at change. Finding individuals with this broad range of expertise is challenging, which is why expert project management leadership is a highly desirable competency.
The Project Management Institute (PMI) sponsors certification programs - the purpose and goal of which is the development, maintenance, evaluation, promotion, and administration of a rigorous education, experience and examination-based, professional certification credential of the highest caliber. Two of those certifications are:
-
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
-
Project Management Professional (PMP)
CAPM is perfect for project team members and entry-level project managers, as well as qualified undergraduate and graduate students who want a credential to recognize their value to project team performance. The CAPM certification is a great stepping-stone along the path to PMP certification.
If you enjoy the prestige that comes from being the best in your field, then you'll appreciate the professional advantages derived from attaining the PMP, the profession's most globally recognized and respected credential. The PMP designation following your name tells current and potential employers that you have demonstrated a solid foundation of knowledge from which you can competently practice project management.
CAPM and PMP candidates must first meet specific educational and/or project management related experience requirements and then pass a comprehensive computer-based examinations. .In partnership with the Midlands PMI Chapter, Midlands Technical College is pleased to offer, in addition to our three project management courses, two exam review courses.
