High Performing Teams - Do You Have What It Takes?
Organizations hire individuals, but almost all employees work in one or more
teams. When managers in one study were asked to name the most important traits
of a perfect staff member, "being a team player" was ranked the highest. Teams
are widely used and team players are in high demand. High performing teams
usually exhibit an overall team purpose, mutual accountability, collective
work products, shared leadership roles, high cohesiveness, collaboration in
deciding task assignments and procedures, and collective assessment of their
own success. A team's performance can be improved by the development of tools
and skills for working more effectively together. Join us as we examine the
key questions that need to be addressed when a group of people come together
as a team and explore the broad range of team leader behaviors that facilitate
the team building process.
