Financial Arrangements

Quick, easy, affordable options from our educational loan partners. Don't delay a better future because you think you can't afford it. Invest in yourself.

SLM Financial, a Sallie Mae company, helps students and families achieve their education goals through its student loan division.  The application process is fast and is among the highest in acceptance rates in the industry.

New Deferment Option!  Sallie Mae Continuing Education Loan offers an alternative loan to students, which allows deferment while in school, additional expenses for books, fees, equipment, and even living expenses, along with flexible repayment options.  By applying online, you may receive a pre-approval in only 30 seconds!  If your credit is in question, you can still apply with a cosigner.  Midlands Technical College participates in the Continuing Education Loan program with Sallie Mae, and using the web to apply is the best option.

Please contact Blanch Hill at (803) 732-0432 and press option 1 or email hillb@midlandstech.edu for more information.

Apply online with Sallie Mae at https://slmfinancial.com/schools/index.html.

Lifetime Learning Credit

You may be able to claim a lifetime learning credit of up to $1,000 for qualified tuition and related expenses paid for continuing education classes taken to improve job skills.  There is no limit on the number of years for which the lifetime learning credit can be claimed.  A tax credit reduces the amount of income tax you may have to pay.  Unlike a deduction, which reduces the amount of income subject to tax, a credit directly reduces the tax itself.  For more information and to determine your own eligibility, visit irs.gov or speak to your tax advisor.
