Welding Certificate (Evening Program)
Become a welding professional through Midlands Technical College's welding program. For an additional fee, depending on the number and types of tests desired, AWS certification testing and certification will be offered to students through SC Technical College System. Students who pass the certification testing will receive nationally recognized and documented AWS certifications from an AWS accredited State Technical College for the skills they have mastered. Classes are taught in accordance with ASME Section IX and AWS D 1.1 standards. Gain comprehensive entry-level welding skills to include: Industrial Safety, Tools and Applications, Basic fabrication skills, Oxy-Fuel Cutting, SMAW (Stick) in all positions, GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) on Carbon, Stainless and Aluminum, and Pipe Welding. Personal equipment needs will be discussed at the first class (an additional student cost of $200-$300).
