About Registration

Tuition

Tuition varies with each course and is listed after each course description.

Refunds

You must officially withdraw from a course to receive a refund. Contact the continuing education registration office at (803) 732-0432 to give notification.

Your tuition is fully refundable up to 5 business days prior to the course start date. If you notify the registration office 4 or less business days prior to the course start date, you will receive a 50% refund of your tuition or you may name someone else to attend in your place. There will be No Refunds on the course start date or after the course begins.  Please note that you are still responsible for payment if you do not cancel.

If MTC cancels a course you will receive a 100% refund of your tuition, or you can request to be transferred into the next available course.

Collection Statement

Midlands Technical College employs third party agencies to collect delinquent student accounts.  By registering for classes, you are acknowledging responsibility to pay any expenses incurred by the college to collect your account, should it become delinquent.

Seniors

Citizens 60 years and older are eligible for membership in the MTC Senior Enrichment Program.  Seniors pay an annual membership fee of $39 and then receive a 15% discount on designated courses for one year. Enrollment in the Senior Enrichment Program provides discounts in a majority of the community education programs and some computer courses. Members are encouraged to check with the registration office at (803) 732-0432 prior to enrollment.

Change Notification

Midlands Technical College reserves the right to make necessary changes in registration fees, course dates, times, curricula, and faculty. Every effort will be made to work with students who have already enrolled in a course where changes were made.

Special Accommodations

The college requests students notify Counseling Services, 803-822-3505 of any special accommodation needs at least 30 working days prior to the first day of class. This notification will help insure quality and availability of the services needed.

Company Benefits

Check into the educational benefits offered by your company. Many area institutions, businesses, and industries have tuition assistance policies and encourage their employees to explore continuing education opportunities to help advance their careers.

Continuing Education Units (CEU'S)

The CEU is a nationally recognized method for recording participation in a continuing education program that does not count toward a degree, but does meet established standards for increasing knowledge and competencies. One CEU is awarded for each 10 contact hours of participation in an organized non-credit continuing education program. Records for CEU's are kept on file in the Registrar's Office at Midlands Technical College. No CEU's are awarded for personal interest courses.
